Antonina Jannuso and her husband
Angelo Janussso got married and went to live temporarily with his mother and brother. They
were very poor. One of their wedding presents was a plaster plaque of Our Lady. Antonina
quickly became pregnant and felt very oppressed living in his parents home. Se had an
attack of epilepsy and very bad pains. The doctors said that this was due to the difficult
pregnancy and said that she had to go to bed and stay there. Antonia found her refuge in
prayer. For which her husband mocked her.
On the 29th of August, she started with very bad cramps which lasted a lot longer than
normal.
The people who were with her wanted to fetch the doctor and her husband. Suddenly the
patient became calm and said in a very peaceful voice: "The Madonna is crying".
In the meantime all the pains had gone. Her auntie and sister-in-law witnessed this
miracle. All the other members of the family were called and also saw this miracle.
Antonia stayed watching by The Blessed Virgin and for several hours she witnessed the
miracle, whilst she tried to wipe away The Blessed Virgins tears. First with a
handkerchief and then with cotton wool.
The people decide to call the police and the men mocked her. However they did have to
agree that the Madonna is crying. When her husband came home, the house is full of people.
Finally the police take the Madonna away in a jeep, which becomes wet with the tears. Our
Blessed Mother had cried for almost an entire day. Our Lady stopped crying at the police
station. They have no idea what to do with the plaque, so they return it to Angelo. Who
goes home with it via quiet allies so that he would no be seen. Frightened of the crowds,
he placed the plaque on a cushion and Our Lady continued to cry.
The following morning, a crowd of people were waiting outside number 11 on the Via degli
Orti di St Giorgio.
Several people had been there all night.
Folks placed the plague on a little table by the window, so that everybody could walk past
and see the miracle. Amongst those who pasted was the chaplain, Father Vincenzo Sapio. The
first priest to see this miracle. He was a member of the order of The Servants of Our
Blessed Lady.
Tuesday September the first at 11 o'clock the Madonna stopped crying. Samples had been
taken
of the tears and examined by specialist who had also examined the plague.
THE TEARS WHERE HUMAN TEARS AND THE THIS WAS DOCUMENTED AND SIGNED
BY FOUR DIFFERENT DOCTORS
The Parish Priest bears witness to the fact that the doctors swore to this fact on The
Bible.
This miracle was seen by thousands of people of all ages and social standing.
The Blessed Virgin Mother had cried for four whole days with only some short pauses.
The pieces of cotton wool which were soaked with the tears were send to different places
around the world and many miracles occurred as in Spain.
THIS MIRACLE WAS IMMEDIATELY ACKNOWLEDGETHED BY POPE PIUS XII
